The newly introduced Tejas Express which takes passengers from Lucknow to Delhi in just 6.5 hours and vice versa, seems to be getting off on a really good start. The train is just a month old and yet, has clocked in profits of ₹70 lakhs in the short period of time.
Apart from the profits, the Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express has earned a few other milestones in its debut month. Read on to know all the checkpoints that Tejas Express crossed in the month of October.

India’s first privately run train, the Tejas Express is probably doing a lot many things right. The fact that Tejas has made a positive impression in the minds of people is visible in the profits the train made for the month of October alone. In the past month, Tejas Express earned a revenue of nearly ₹3.70 crores, over and above the sole profits of ₹70 lakhs.
These figures are rather impressive, especially for a new train that is just a month old. However, it seems that there are more than ample takers for good train services, speed and comfort between Delhi & Lucknow.
As for the details on the running status of the train, it was active for 21 days as it runs six days in a week. The IRCTC announced that the train averaged an occupancy rate of about 80-85 percent on each commute. They also stated that they gained an approximate profit of ₹17.5 lakhs everyday the train was active, which tells us that Tejas Express is here to stay.

The Tejas Express was built to bring to life the IRCTC’s plan to develop 50 railway stations in India to a world class level. The bid also proposed that there would be 150 state of the art trains plying on routes from these 50 developed railway stations, which is where Tejas Express comes in.
The train takes passengers from Delhi to Lucknow and back in just a matter of around 6 hours. This is rather convenient for those who need a quick in and out of either city. Additionally, the train also supplies passengers with high class facilities on board at a very reasonable price.
