With a startling rise in the number of coronavirus cases, Lucknow reported around 563 new cases on Friday, taking the city tally around 8,178. This has been the highest single day tally of Lucknow since the outbreak of the virus in March. There are about 4281 active cases in the city with 658 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Cases begin to rise again

With a good start to the week, Lucknow showed a dip in the number of new cases being identified, however, as of yesterday, a sudden spike has been recorded. With about 948 cases being registered in the last two days, Lucknow appears to be on its way to achieve the infection transmission peak soon.

Although, these new numbers have further added to the pressures and work load of the medical and staff, an improved recovery rate has also been showcased by the state capital. After a 4 day lull, about 658 recoveries- highest in a single day, were reported in Lucknow. This helped the city to control the number of active cases from shooting up in the city. A total of 3802 patients have recovered from corona so far, and the number of fatalities touch the statistic of number 95, with the 5 deaths reported yesterday.
