Lucknow’s Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Prani Udyan, more commonly known as the Lucknow Zoo will get a pair of new Zebras all the way from Israel! This new addition, is being made in an attempt to not only enrich wildlife in Lucknow but also to boost the footfall at the zoological garden. On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh’s Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Head of Department announced that besides Lucknow, Kanpur and Gorakhpur Zoo will also get a pair of Zebra each.
Lucknow’s zebra fence to be occupied soon!
Vacant since the death of its only in Zebra in 2015, Lucknow’s Zebra fence finally gears up to host its soon arriving occupants from Israel. Reaching in December, these striped coat animals will boost wildlife in the the capital Lucknow, as well as Kanpur and Gorakhpur zoos, which are also getting two zebras each.
The trustee of Heritage Foundation informed that Uttar Pradesh currently hosts only one Zebra, a female by the name Aishwarya at the Kanpur Zoo. When this was intimated to the Chief Minister, he immediately acknowledged it, directing designated officials to take the necessary steps to improve the inmates at pivotal zoological gardens.
Kanpur Zoo, which sent a Zebra to the zoological garden at the state capital in 2013, will get a pair too. Gorakhpur Zoo, which is slated to be inaugurated on 14th of January next year will soon commence the process of bringing in animals to the city after receiving the final nod of the Central Zoo Authority in New Delhi. With this procedure in view, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Head of Department further stated that all new- Gorakhpur Zoo will also get the new Zebras!
