BrahMos, one of India’s most advanced indigenously-produced weapons, is a medium-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile capable of being launched from submarines, ships, fighter aircraft and transporter erector launchers (TEL). It is jointly developed by BrahMos Aerospace, a collaboration between the governments of India and Russia. The missile is further exported to allied nations.
The Lucknow facility will initially manufacture 100 missiles, with plans to scale up production to missiles worth ₹900 crore over the next five to seven years.
