The 109th edition of the annual Indian Science Congress will take place at Lucknow University between January 3 to 7. The 5-day event will be returning to the varsity for the sixth time since its inception and aims to advance and promote the cause of science in India.
Like every year, scientists from across the nation will gather at the Indian Science Congress 2024. Joining them will be many other dignitaries, including the Indian Prime Minister.

Notably, the Indian Science Congress Association (ICSA), which is the main organizing body for the event, works on providing a platform to the leading scientists of the nation from various domains while holding the annual congress.
In addition, the body also works on the orchestration of other tasks including the publication proceedings, journals and transactions along with securing and managing funds and endowments for the promotion of science, among others.
Over 20,000 attendees to join the 109th edition of ISC
The conference was first organized back in the year 1914 at the Calcutta University and is being held every year across various central universities of the country. The mega science event is deemed to be the largest gathering of scientists and students. During the 109th edition, over 20,000 research scholars and scientists are expected to attend the event.
The 108th edition of Indian Science congress was held at the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University between January 3 to 7, this year. Moreover, Lucknow University has previously hosted the ISC in 1916, 1923, 1953, 1985 and 2002.
