Lucknow’s old city to get flyovers to battle traffic woes

Lucknow is currently facing one of the biggest challenges plaguing urban areas - traffic jams. The government has taken several steps in the near past in order to tackle this problem and they are about to undertake another welcome change. The latest such move comes in the form of building three new flyovers in the Old CIty in order to decongest routes in the area.

The Old City is one of the most crowded and choked areas of the city. It has not got any major upgrades in the past and has become a cesspool of all kinds of problems. The first three lane flyover will be built on Guru Govind Singh Marg with a length of 1656 metres and will connect Hussainganj crossing with DAV College.

The second flyover will connect Charak crossing and Haiderganj crossing. The flyover will be a two lane flyover with a length of 2,400 metres. The third and final one will be the shortest of them all with a length of 908 metres. It will connect the Haiderganj trisection with Meena Bakery and will be a two lane fly over.

As of now, the plans for these three flyovers have been approved and the authorities are in talks with one another to begin work on the project. Though the construction time may be long and tiresome for residents of these places, in the long run, it will certainly benefit Lucknowites. We are eagerly waiting to see how this move, and the others will help in delivering a hassle free commute experience to daily travellers.
