Second week of December and temperature in Lucknow drops to 8 degree celsius!

Chilly days have begun in the state and the minimum temperature in Lucknow on Monday were recorded as 7.8 degree celsius in the night and 24 degree celsius in daytime, both of which are two and one degree below normal respectively.

It is just the second week of December, yet the cold wind has engulfed the entire state. Surprisingly, Muzaffarnagar (2.5 celsius) in Uttar Pradesh was recorded to be colder than Shimla (3.6 celsius). The dip in the temperature is the result of the North Westerly winds blowing over the state.

The forecast for Lucknow is clear sky, and the maximum, minimum temperature is predicted to be 24 and 8 respectively. Many cities in UP, namely, Meerut (6.7), Shahjahanpur (6.1), Bareily (6.3), Kheri (6.6) and Agra (7.9), have recorded temperatures lower than 8 degree celsius. The drop in temperature is also the result of the snowfall in the Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and in other hilly areas of the country.

Apart from freezing cold, winter in Lucknow brings a lot of other things too, which Lucknowites wait eagerly for. Winter is the best time to enjoy Makkhan Malai in the city and it’s the season to enjoy groundnuts too. And to beat the cold, all you need is a sip of the hot Sharma ki chai!
