Just when Lucknow seemed to get a respite from the chilly weather over the past couple of days, in came the rain to wash away the summer-y breeze. According to reports by the meteorological department, Lucknow, Meerut, Kanpur and Allahabad will see more rain in the coming days. Though we all love the rains, the cold that comes with it, is not our favourite. It’s time to sit back with a hot cuppa and just enjoy the splash of water drops.

Lucknow woke up to a murky, rainy Wednesday, as opposed to the sunny days that blessed the city over the past few days. According to the met department, since the rains in January were not enough in numbers, they had speculated that it would come back in the coming month of February. They have also gone on to say that they expect to see the rain spell carry forward for at least two more days.
These experts have alluded the rains to the cyclonic disturbances over the state of Rajasthan and the dip in temperatures in areas that are located in higher altitudes. They also said that places near Uttarakhand will see more rainfall as opposed to the other places. Additionally, the whole of Uttar Pradesh will see a short rain spell as a result of the same and the cyclonic circulations that have now made their way into the state. As a result of this, city temperatures would dip for a couple of days before returning to normal.
As for areas that will witness a rain spell, Bahraich, Bareilly, Aligarh and Meerut would start witnessing rain and thundershower activities sometime today. Eventually, the rain belt will cover Lucknow, Kanpur and Allahabad as well. As the system moves eastward, places like Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Sultanpur would also be a witness to rain and thundershower activities.
