The Centurion in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar, has brought the most lavish buffet spread to town

The Centurion is one of the newest addition to Lucknow’s buffet scene, yet with its stunning decor and huge menu, it is already winning hearts. Famed as India’s biggest buffet restaurant, The Centurion is a known name which has only recently graced the city. It is the perfect place to nosh on some delicious grub, celebrate and hangout with your loved ones.

The restaurant is huge. Complete with a waiting lounge that looks more like a fancy hotel lobby, a kids play area, a humongous indoor seating section, a rooftop seating section as well as a private seating area, makes The Centurion undeniably the biggest place in town.

The property is designed with clarity and purpose, the comfortable interiors and the plush decor come together to make the restaurant look absolutely stunning. We are a fan of the seating arrangement as well as the layout of the buffet.

The restaurant has seven different live cooking stations, an Oudhi counter where you can get your necessary kebabs and grills, a Texas Grill counter where you will find burgers, teppanyaki and hot dogs. A China Town station where you find the much loved noodles and stir fries, Pind da Swaad for your desi Chhola Kulchas. A separate Chat counter to satisfy your chatori cravings, an Italian one for fresh baked pizzas and a Mishti counter for hot jalebi and rabri and cooling lassi.

The restaurant also has a bar section where you can find the drink of your choice. We are especially a fans of the Kiwi Cooler, Blue Lagoon and Sunrise.

*It is noteworthy that they don’t serve alcohol.

Imagine all this and we haven’t even started with the main buffet.

The restaurant also serves you chicken tikka, paneer tikka, pasta, kebabs and other varieties of starters, on the table before you actually get up to enjoy the buffet.

Coming to the star of the show, the main buffet.

The variety of salads and fresh cut fruits will blow you away. From regular sprouts and basic fruit salad to pasta, coleslaw and cream chicken salad, the options are vast. You also get an accoutrement of papad, chutney, and raita to add on to your meal.

The non vegetarian section’s mutton nihari, biryani are like tasting a delicately prepared party in the mouth, the butter chicken, a comfort food that you cannot go wrong with and the grilled butter lemon fish so fresh and so yummy. The vegetarians can take a sigh of relief because unlike other buffets, you have a plethora of options to choose from. If you feel a little oriental you can try the chilly paneer and noodles and if you crave desi, the spice indulgent dal makhani, flavourful kadai paneer, delicate malai kofta, mixed veggies and the veggie biryani will surely satisfy your taste buds.

What impressed us most about The Centurion, was their extensive dessert counter. They do not skimp on their sweets and neither should you. We recommend finishing your meal in style with a cooling thandai, or a bowl full of ice-cream, hey you can pick your own flavour. But if like us you reserve parking space in your stomach for the desserts, they also have phirni, gulab jamun, baked cheesecake, fresh cream cheesecake, fudgy brownies, chocolate fudge, an assortment of cupcakes, a number of pastries, fruit custard and cake.

Whoo! sounds like a meal that’s going to sit in your stomach for a while. So, what are you waiting for? head to the centurion already!
