BMC announces a 24-hour water cut in Mumbai from May 31 to June 1st

Heavily populated areas of Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar and Malad will face the brunt of the water shutdown

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has imposed a 24-hour water cut in Mumbai, starting 8:30 AM on May 31. The areas affected by water supply shutdown include the heavily populated Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar and Malad suburbs. Reportedly, the resource cut has been placed in wake of the ongoing maintenance and repair work on the water mains.

Based on accounts, the water supply in Borivali, Kandivali, Dahisar and Malad will remain suspended from 8:30 AM on Tuesday, May 31 to 8.30 AM on Wednesday, June 1. The 24 hour water supply cut will impact the many households in the western suburban stretch of North Mumbai, throughout the day on May 31.

The BMC has urged people to store water for daily usage in advance, plan their choose accordingly and use water judiciously during the period. If need be, water tankers will be supplied in affected areas by the municipal corporation. Regular water supply shall be resumed on June 1, the BMC reports said.
