Cyclone Fengal Effect: Mumbai heats up by 7.5°C in 4 days; several Maha districts under rain alert
After recording its second-coldest November night in a decade at 16.5°C, Mumbai experienced a sharp rise in temperatures to 24°C on Tuesday. Weather experts link this surge to Cyclone Fengal, which made landfall in Puducherry over the weekend, bringing humid southeast winds and moisture to Maharashtra.
The rise is accompanied by overcast skies and haze in the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for several Maharashtra districts, including Pune and Kolhapur, with thunderstorms and light rains expected over the next few days. Mumbai’s forecast for today includes a partly cloudy sky and temperatures ranging from 24°C to 34°C, with possible haze in the morning.
The IMD has also predicted gusty winds and light to moderate rainfall across various regions of Maharashtra over the next few days.
