Starting today, navigating Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) will become easier, with the opening of a new 180-meter signal-free road. Developed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) at a cost of ₹3.98 crore, this six-lane stretch connects the MTNL Junction to the BKC-Chunabhatti Connector, ensuring smoother traffic flow and reducing travel time significantly.
Strategically designed to ease congestion, the road runs alongside the Mithi River, cutting peak-hour commute time – from 30 to just 15 minutes. Key BKC landmarks like MCA Club, Eastern Express Highway, and the consulates, will now be more accessible, providing relief to daily commuters.
This development is timely, as BKC grapples with traffic bottlenecks caused by ongoing Metro 2B and Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train construction. Complementing existing routes like the Sion-Dharavi-Kalanagar and Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, the new road is a vital addition to Mumbai’s urban infrastructure, promising a faster, hassle-free experience for all.
