Meet 500+ feathered friends from 70 species, at India’s first interactive bird park in Mumbai
Summer holidays are here, and if you are looking for a fun-filled outing for the kids, Mumbai’s EsselWorld Bird Park is the place to be! Tucked away in Gorai, this bird sanctuary lets little explorers step into a world of feathers, colours, and chirping melodies. Spread across an acre, it is also India’s first interactive bird park, home to over 500 birds from 70 species.
Meet the birds
EsselWorld Bird Park aims to promote bird conservation and awareness, with a team of leading ornithologists. When here, visitors can meet a variety of birds, categorised into three main groups:
Flying Birds – Includes African Grey Parrots, Macaws, Cockatoos, and Green Turacos.
Aquatic Birds – Features Black-Necked Swans, Wood Ducks, and Muscovy Ducks.
Terrestrial Birds – Home to Golden Pheasants, Ostriches, California Quails, and Guinea Fowl.
The park recently welcomed two Swiss bird chicks, fondly named Guri and Pawra, adding to its growing family.
An interactive experience
Unlike traditional aviaries, EsselWorld Bird Park offers an interactive experience, specially for kids. They can walk through the park, feed the birds, and even have playful parrots perch on their shoulders. The park also hosts educational programmes, making it ideal for families with children.
Plan your visit!
So, if you’ve only seen these beautiful creatures on Nat Geo or Discovery, now’s your chance to experience them in person. Head to EsselWorld Bird Park with your kids and make the most of their ongoing summer holidays.
