COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test rate slashed to ₹50 in Jaipur & other districts in Rajasthan

In view of the rising COVID cases and the consequent surge in the demand for testing, the government of Rajasthan has reduced the rate of Rapid Antigen Test in the state. In line with the order issued by the administration on Tuesday, private labs can not charge more than ₹50 (including taxes) for a RAT to detect COVID-19 in Rajasthan. According to reports, this is the lowest rate of RAT in India at present.

With 75 new cases on Tuesday, Jaipur records the highest share of daily COVID rise in Rajasthan

Jaipur on Tuesday logged in 75 new COVID cases, the highest share of 97 infections in Rajasthan. With these numbers, the state's active load surged to a tally of 438, while that of Jaipur hovered at 273. Besides the Pink City, fresh cases were reported in Jodhpur, Udaipur, Alwar, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, and Kota.

4 new Omicron cases reported in Jaipur on Wednesday

Omicron threat has increased in Jaipur as new cases of this COVID variant have been detected in the city. A total of 4 cases were reported on Wednesday, which includes a tourist from Kenya and 3 Jaipur residents. According to the officials, the 27-year-old traveller from Kenya is currently undergoing treatment in Delhi. The 3 locals include a couple from Burmese colony and an individual from Pratap Nagar and are not related to each other.

The cause of concern here is the fact that these 3 people have no travel history, which only points towards the beginning of contact spread in the state. It was only when the three developed symptoms and reached the hospital for treatment, they were found to be COVID positive. Rajasthan's current Omicron tally stands at 22 cases, as of now.

Jaipur witnesses a rise in COVID cases; 3 students test positive in the city as schools reopen!

Witnessing the gradual rise in COVID cases in Jaipur once again, experts fear that the impending third wave might start soon in Rajasthan. With a sizeable increase in active cases post-Diwali, Jaipur has started recording fresh cases of coronavirus in double digits again. Reportedly, with 12 positive cases reported on Monday, 10 on Tuesday and 5 on Wednesday, Jaipur has reported 46 fresh cases of this viral infection in the last six days.
