Section 144 restrictions extended in Lucknow for another month till August 5!

In view of the upcoming festivals and Panchayat polls, restraints under section 144 have been extended in Lucknow till August 5 to keep the situation under control. While the restrictions were applicable till July 5 earlier, the time period has been extended with an objective to prevent a revived surge in infections. As per the latest development, not more than 5 people will be allowed to gather at public and community spaces during this interval.

Section 144 restrictions to be continued in Lucknow till July 6

Keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic situation, the Joint Police Commissioner of Lucknow announced on Sunday that the city would remain clamped under Section 144 till July 6. While the case tallies have dropped considerably in the state capital, the fear of a revived spread and the anticipated third wave still lingers on. Further, the top police official affirmed that the decision regarding the extension of the lockdown will be taken on Tuesday after making a note of the current circumstances.

Curfew relaxed in Kanpur & other UP districts, barring 20 highly infected cities including Lucknow

In an order issued by the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, the state has announced curfew relaxations across all districts nursing less than 600 active cases, from June 1. As per reports, all markets and shops outside containment zones in such regions will be permitted to operate from 7 AM to 7 PM for 5 days a week. However, the curfew will remain in order for the next 12 hours i.e., from 7 PM to 7 AM and during the weekends.

These eased guidelines will benefit 55 districts including Kanpur Nagar, read reports. Meanwhile, the state has emphasised that no relaxations will be offered in Lucknow, Meerut and 18 other districts as well, due to their high active caseload.

Lockdown extended across Lucknow, Kanpur & other UP districts till 7 AM on May 31!

Lucknow has been observing a constant drop in COVID-19 cases for the past few weeks and now, the tally of fresh cases recorded on May 22, stands at 291. Holding this lowering count in view and to keep it that way, the Uttar Pradesh government has declared the extension of the ongoing lockdown in Lucknow, Kanpur and other districts, till May 31, 7 AM. Essential services have been barred from these constraints, to mitigate any related public discomfort.

Section 144 imposed in Lucknow to keep a check on law & order ahead of festivities, till April 5

Lucknow administrative authorities imposed city-wide restrictions under section 144 on Monday. Releasing a circular, the Joint Commissioner of Police stated that the restraints are being executed to keep a check on the law and order situation in the city, besides addressing concerns around the ongoing COVID pandemic. If the order is not repealed, the limitations under section 144 shall continue for a period of more than a month, till April 5, 2021.
