IMD predicts light & sporadic showers in Mumbai for the next few days

The onset of monsoon in Mumbai this year was well aligned with the predictions of IMD as it arrived timely on 9th June. So far the city has received a total rainfall of 914.1mm. These numbers are quite high from the normal monthly average noted along the years, which is stated to be 493.1 mm. Further, these statistics prompt that the amount of rain received in Mumbai is the 3rd highest recorded in the past 10 years. For now, Mumbaikars can take a sigh of relief, with no heavy rainfall in prediction untill next month.

IMD forecasts heavy rains in eastern UP & gusty winds along the Goa-South Maharashtra coast

The Indian Meteorological Department on Sunday warned against heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated regions over eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Besides this, the monsoon impact will amplify over Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and coastal areas, the forecast detailed. Orange Alert issued in Lucknow & other dists as pre-monsoon weather changes observed across UP

Today morning, residents of Lucknow and nearby areas woke up to overcast skies and moderate to heavy pre-monsoon rainfall was reported in several areas. Mumbai to experience heavy rainfall between 9 June to 12 June, IMD issues alert!

It has been forecasted that between 9 June to 12 June, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and the Konkan region will experience heavy rains. In light of impending monsoon, advisory issued to safeguard Goa residents from beach areas

Beaches and water sport activities are a major attraction of Goa, however, with the impending arrival of the southwest monsoons, they have been shut down for visitors. Light showers have been witnessed over the past few days, along the coastal stretch, which signifies that pre-monsoon has already hit the state. This decision has been implemented from Saturday, i.e., 5 June onwards.

On the same day, the Goa government also declared that the ongoing curfew restrictions across the state will be extended till 7 AM of 14 June. However, during this period, shops dealing in essential items will be allowed to operate from 7 AM to 3 PM every day.
