Safety measures to be upgraded in Mumbai's BEST buses with an SOS button & new CCTV cameras

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) is going to implement multiple safety measures in their buses in 2022 to ensure safe travel for women commuters. As per reports, this undertaking with witness a surveillance upgrade, with CCTV cameras installations in all buses. Christmas comes early for Mumbai as BEST plans to launch HO-HO bus services for tourists

In a bid to boost tourism in the city, BEST on Wednesday announced its decision to launch a special fleet of 10 'Ho-Ho' buses in Mumbai soon. Reportedly, the buses were shown a green by the BEST Committee on Tuesday after the clearance of a long-pending proposal, positioning their launch just in time for the festive season. Labelled as the Hop on-Hop off services, these buses will primarily cater to travellers and tourists, enabling a premium yet economic means of travel for them.

Mumbai locals to resume operations for fully vaccinated passengers from August 15

Mumbai's suburban train network, the locals, will soon be able to ferry fully vaccinated passengers. In a televised address to the state on Sunday, Maharashtra CM announced that the people who have received both doses of COVID vaccines, will be eligible for local train travel. However, a gap of 14 days is imperative between the second dose and the date of travel. As of now, only those who are engaged in essential businesses are permitted to use the local trains.
