New Action Plan launched to combat the threat of Omicron in UP

A special team of doctors and health experts, that had been formed during the second wave of Covid-19, has now formed a new action plan to prevent the spread of the new Omicron variant in Uttar Pradesh. Cops in UP to get CPR training for providing timely aid during emergency situations

In a bid to provide timely aid to citizens during an emergency, the Lucknow police personnel will be trained to perform basic lifesaving techniques i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This initiative will help the police force to help residents of the city receive medical assistance during emergency situations. ​SGPGI in Lucknow starts new facilities for haemophilia & leukaemia patients

The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow has started two new facilities for patients suffering from haemophilia and leukaemia. The Haemophilia Physiotherapy Unit and a new ward for Peripherally Inserted Central Cannula (PICC) Line Care Centre have been set up in the Department of Haematology of this institute. As per reports, the PICC centre is built to facilitate painless chemotherapy of leukaemia patients.

Liver transplants at Lucknow's SGPGIMS to now be performed by an internal team of doctors

Adding to the premier services available at Lucknow's Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, the doctors at this centre will also perform liver transplants now. While the healthcare facility was dependent on help from the external staff for liver transplants till now, the procedure shall be conducted by an exclusively internal team now. For this purpose, a group of doctors has been formed and they are fully trained to perform the critical process.
