The most populous state of the country, Uttar Pradesh has successfully managed to arrest its fresh COVID tallies to just 11 cases in the past 24 hours. As per reports, the new spike was restricted to just 6 out of the total 75 districts in UP, while the remaining 69 recorded a null case rise. It may be also noted that about 30 districts here are completely COVID-free now, with zero active caseloads.
State's COVID status
Showcasing strong recovery trends, UP has successfully managed to isolate the COVID threat to only a few regions, where about 6 districts account for 52% of the total 186 cases active now. In the past 24 hours also, a fresh case rise was detected only in 6 districts including one case each in Lucknow, Aligarh, Varanasi and Pratapgarh, along with 3 cases in Meerut and 4 in Gorakhpur. Besides them, not even a single detection was reported in any other UP district.
Additionally, the health officials have come up with another list that includes 30 districts that are now COVID-free. The count of both, fresh active cases has dipped to zero in these regions, bringing the much-needed pandemic respite.
The list includes Amroha, Aurraiya, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Baghpat, Ballia, Banda, Bahraich, Bhadohi, Bijnor, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hapur, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Kasganj, Mahoba, Mau, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shamli, Shravasti, Sitapur and Sultanpur.
UP has administered the highest number of COVID vaccine jabs
Meanwhile, the state government has issued a warning regarding COVID safety and precautions to persist the fast pace pandemic recovery here. In an official statement, the state has advised people to not be careless as the risk of contracting the virus still exists. This order also attributes the state's COVID arrest to the trace, test and treat strategy of the administration. The pandemic control was further enabled by partial corona curfew and aggressive vaccination, the statement added.
This draws attention to yet another remarkable feat of the state. Uttar Pradesh has completed the administration of about 9.90 crore vaccination jabs, the highest in India. About 8.09 people have so far taken the first jab, while the second dose coverage stands at 8%, with over 1.80 crore shots.
