UP to get 2 plastic processing parks to ensure increased recycling & reuse

In a significant move towards sustainable development goals, the Uttar Pradesh government has prepared plans to establish two plastic processing plants in the state. While the first plant will be set up in Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, the other facility is proposed to come up in Gorakhpur. The current project has been formulated, in light of the inflating demands for plastic goods, being observed across the globe.

RT-PCR negative report mandatory for those traveling to UP

With COVID cases on a rise again in several Indian states, travel norms in UP have been changed yet again. Passengers traveling to Uttar Pradesh from states having a high COVID caseload will now be allowed entry only after they produce a negative RT-PCR report. The negative certificate should not be older than 4 days. All travelers, irrespective of their mode of commute, be it road, rail, air or private vehicle, will have to comply with this norm. Only those who are fully vaccinated against the virus with both the doses, will be exempted.

'Bijli Sakhi' women groups help recover power dues in rural Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh initiative of engaging women self-help groups (SHGs) as 'bijli sakhis' has started to light the bulb of the state's revenue. Employed under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, these women groups have helped the administration to recover ₹49 lakhs worth of power bills across rural areas of the Prayagraj district. As per reports, these dues have been accrued between February 1 and June 15, 2021.

Uttar Pradesh to offer free, virtual Sanskrit classes for all to promote the 'Language of God'

In an attempt to promote 'Sanskrit language' in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has decided to provide virtual training to interested candidates. All the people who want to speak, read and learn the language can now learn the language free of cost.

As per reports, the citizens, especially the students, will be able to take advantage of this facility by registering with a missed call alert. For this, regular one-hour-long online sessions will take place for 20 days. The classes will begin from July end.

Lucknow's NBRI to begin genome sequencing within 15 days to detect Delta plus COVID variant

The state of Uttar Pradesh is expanding its genome sequencing facilities in the wake of the active threat of the Delta plus COVID mutation here and the NBRI in Lucknow, will also revive its genome sequencing lab, in this light. In the next 15 days, the Botanical Institute in the state capital will be inducted into the state machinery to detect the Delta plus variant in UP. Earlier during the first wave also, the institute had assisted in the process of genome sequencing, Director SK Barik informed.
