India’s Union Budget 2024-25 was announced yesterday, promising significant transportation upgrades for Lucknow. Notably, plans include a semi-high speed Vande Metro that will run between Lucknow and Kanpur. A total of ₹240 crore will be allocated for this project.
Additionally, Lucknow is set to receive a new direct train to Bhopal, along with new train services to Jammu Tawi-Katra and Puri. More detailed information on fund allocations for these projects will be available once the pink book is issued next week.
