Reducing waste and boosting renewable energy
The Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan (GOBARdhan) plant is part of a larger national initiative aimed at galvanizing organic bio-agro resources. It aligns perfectly with a vision of a circular economy, where waste is minimised and resources are reused. By converting organic materials like animal manure, crop residue and kitchen scraps into renewable energy and organic fertilisers, the GOBARdhan plant not only helps reduce landfill waste but also promotes sustainable agriculture.
Beyond energy production, the facility generates over 100 tonnes of high-quality compost daily, supporting local agriculture and reducing the need for chemical fertilisers. The plant’s impact on the environment is equally significant, preventing the release of about 130,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually by diverting waste from landfills.
