Students of Lucknow are in for a treat with RJ Harshi from Radio Mirchi bringing the famous Mirchi Kantap as an open mic competition to the college campuses of Lucknow.
Haven’t we all felt the urge to slap someone right on their stupid faces? Well people are irritating, aren’t they? But you can’t risk losing a job, a friend or your peace of mind. Hence, Mirchi Kantap.

Radio Mirchi’s Mirchi Kantap is based around the idea that you can use clever and sarcastically written words to vent your anger without actually dissing someone to their face. RJ Harshi and Radio Mirchi have come up with this clever concept that would not only create a healthy competition but also provide an outlet for youngsters.
The Mirchi team will be coming to seven selected colleges with an open mic for the students, after which two winners will be selected from each college. These winners will then go on to compete with each other to finally get a winner of the city on 1st December.
Through this open mic RJ Harshi and Mirchi want to scout people who are creative with their words and want to give others a piece of their minds. The slogan of the competition is ‘Ab Lucknow keh ke lega’. With this in the forefront Mirchi also wants to focus and draw attention to women empowerment and would like to create a female and Lucknowi version of Gangs of Wasseypur. The idea being that women who have for so long been quiet about the trouble people cause them finally have a platform to let them have it.
Mirchi Kantap in its essence is extremely unbiased and equal, and wants to carry forward the message that no matter who you are, a man, a woman, rich, poor if you irritate someone you’ll hear about it. The participants of the competition have an opportunity to win exciting prizes including apple ear pods, i-pods, Mirchi Kantaap T-shirts and what not.
