Lucknow’s Smart City Project has progressed quite a bit when it comes to improving the infrastructure of the city. Be it the smart bus stands, e-busses of the Integrated Traffic Management System and it seems that the civic authorities in Lucknow are looking to take the undertaking to a whole new level.
Lucknow is soon expected to have a new ‘Smart City Control Room’, that will specifically be dedicated towards achieving the smart city goals and turning Lucknow into a better place to live in.
What’s the update?
Civic authorities in Lucknow plan to set up a modern command centre and control room for the smart city initiative whose sole purpose will be to focus on the Smart City Projects and ensure they reach completion on time. Lucknow Smart City Project has only recently taken several new projects under its wings which includes the ambitious solid waste management system as well as the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS).
The civic authorities aims to nail the existing projects by mid March and have them up and running with the launch of the Control Centre. Which means that the residents can expect a tighter leash when it comes to rule breaking in the city.
The focus this time around is especially on the ITMS which is expected to be launched in full swing by the end of March. Traffic lights have been put up at major crossings and intersections of the city for the same purpose. Hence, residents can expect e-challans, stricter traffic rules and a slew of changes in the day to day operations of the city.

The Smart City project is expected to be launched in full swing with the launch of the new Smart City Control Room. We are hopeful that the control room will not only help bring focus towards the smart city initiative and introduce more projects to make life more convenient for the residents, but will also ensure that the existing projects are augmented and shaped to suit the needs of the residents of Lucknow.
