'Making Gujarat Period Ready' project launched to educate girls about menstruation

Aditi Gupta, the Founder of the Menstrupedia comic book, has collaborated with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Madadgar Parivar, and the Gujarat Education Board to launch a project called 'Making Gujarat Period Ready'.

This initiative aims to educate nearly 2.5 lakh girls in Ahmedabad across 240 schools about menstruation and menstrual hygiene.

Ahmedabad sizzles as the hottest city in Gujarat

Ahmedabad continues to be the hottest city in Gujarat with temperatures reaching 44.1°C on Tuesday, which is 2.2°C above normal. The minimum temperature was 29°C.

DEO set up Menstrual Hygiene Management Corners in city gov schools

As part of a Gujarat government initiative to promote menstrual health among female students, 52 secondary and higher secondary government schools in Ahmedabad have installed Menstrual Hygiene Management Corners.

These dedicated spaces will be staffed by trained teachers who will educate and raise awareness about menstruation and menstrual hygiene among students.

Metro Phase-2 update

Significant progress has been made on the 28-kilometer Metro route from Motora to Mahatma Temple as part of Metro Phase-2. The 16-kilometre stretch from Motora to Gandhinagar Sector-1 and the 5-kilometer route from GNLU to PDPU to Gift City is nearly complete, with trial runs currently underway. The entire route is expected to be operational by August.

IRCTC announces special trains for religious and scenic destinations

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched special train packages for religious and tourist destinations. These trains will operate from June to August and cover Ayodhya, various Jyotirlingas, Vaishnodevi, Sonmarg, and Srinagar in Kashmir.
