Ahmedabad experienced its first significant rainfall of Monsoon 2024, with up to 3.5 inches of rain falling in 24 hours, primarily on Monday night. The showers drenched various areas including Bapunagar, Nikol, Narol, Naroda, Krishnanagar, Kalupur, Raipur, Khadia, SG Highway, Vastrapur, Ranip, New Ranip, Chandlodia, and Gota.

On Monday, the Minister of State for Cooperation, Micro, Small and Medium Industries inaugurated Lotus Public School in Viratnagar, the first English medium school under the Ahmedabad Municipal School Board. This two-storey primary school, built at a cost of Rs 5.4 crore, features 25 classrooms and enrolls 171 students from Balvatika to Class V.
The 21st Edition of Shala Praveshotsav, a state-wide event for enrolling children into kindergarten and Class 1, begins on June 26. This year, over 11.7 lakh children will enter kindergarten, and more than 3.6 lakh will start Class 1, promoting holistic child development across Gujarat.
