Air India's subsidiary, Alliance Air, is all set to begin direct flights from Mumbai to Goa and vice versa, December 4 onwards. The decision was taken by the airlines in an effort to expand its presence and also to provide convenience to passengers, especially during the festive season. The airline has assured that the team will be following all the government guidelines and SOPs, pertaining to the pandemic.


Introducing new flights

According to the airline officials, new flights have been introduced on the route to cater to the needs of passengers in December. The airline has introduced an all-in-one inclusive one-way fare for Mumbai to Goa, starting at ₹2957 and for Goa to Mumbai, the cost is marked at ₹3171. Currently, the lowest fare for a flight from Mumbai to Goa, amounts to ₹3691 according to www.yatra.com.

Adhering to guidelines

The airline highlighted the fact that government guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOP) will be strictly followed in respect to the ongoing pandemic. All required precautionary measures are being taken within the aircraft as well at the time of check-in, boarding and arrival at the destination. All aircrafts are being disinfected after each flight to eliminate any risk of contagion.

People are required to stay at home and travel less but the direct flight initiative by Air India's subsidiary, Alliance Air, will definitely help passengers to travel safely while bagging affordable rates.

In Rajasthan’s vaccination drive on Sunday, Jaipur records the lowest turnout

Jaipur has witnessed vaccination of only 51% of the designated individuals in the six days of immunization.

Speeding-up the covid-19 immunization in Rajasthan, the state's health department conducted vaccination drives at 408 centres on Sunday. Though the objective was to vaccinate more than 38,000 healthcare workers, reports have stated that about 26,255 individuals(67% of the target) were inoculated by the end of the day. Jaipur, the state capital recorded the lowest rate of the target achievement by vaccinating only 41% of the designated number.

There has been an increment in the number of Covaxin sites in Jaipur, totaling up to 11. The natively developed vaccine is currently being administered to the healthcare workers only in Jaipur. Around 430 individuals out of the targetted 1,116 healthcare workers received the Covaxin jab on Sunday, registering a target completion rate of 39%. In all other districts across the state, 68% of the total intended beneficiaries were administered the Covishield vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India. Achieving a target completion rate of 100.5%, Sikar outshone all other districts in the state.

After receiving the dose, 12 recipients of the Covishield vaccine experienced effects while no adverse effect was reported for Covaxin.

Vaccination sites are being increased daily

As per reports, a senior official from the health department stated that new vaccination sites are being set up daily and the state aims to immunize 4.5 lakh citizens as soon as possible. While there were 167 vaccination centres for the first four days of the drive in the state, the count stood at 408 on the sixth day. Through these days, over 93,500 individual have been given the COVID-19 jab which is 21% of the total target.

Jaipur, the city with the highest reported COVID cases in the state has recorded a cumulative target attaintment of 51% for the vaccination drives conducted in the past days. While Bundi has been successful in wtnessing the highest cumulative rate, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Sikar are among the front runners.

Railway's renovation project to bring a World-class, Airport-like station in Kanpur

Proposed project keeps the benefit of passengers as the focal point behind all interventions.

After the Indian Railways successfully completed the redevelopment of the Habibganj station in Bhopal, Kanpur is one of the two stations chosen for the next initiative. As per reports, the Central Railway station is all set for a revamp by the Railway Authority in line with the airport standards. On Friday, a group of officials from different agencies conducted a meeting and deliberated on various issues regarding the renovation project.

The plan for the redevelopment of the railway stations has been prepared by the Ministry of Railways in consultation with the Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC), Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) and other central agencies. With an aim to speed-up the process, IRSDC and RLDA have already started their work to check the technological feasibility and financial viability of the redevelopment project.

As per the current proposal, the exercise will be divided into different stages based on the feasibility reports. While discussing the various areas of renovation, a senior official pointed out that the benefit of the passengers must be the focal point behind all interventions. He added that it is important to consider unusual circumstances like heavy rains or dense fog while working out on the implementations.

Enhancing & upgrading passenger amenities a top priority

The official further stated that the development works of the station must be envisioned upon the needs and requirements of the next 40 to 50 years. A representative from IRSDC delivered a PowerPoint presentation covering the various facets of the redevelopment project. He emphasised the fact that enhancing and upgrading passenger amenities must be the first priority of the innovative scheme.

India has got its first world-class, airport-like railway in Bhopal which would be inaugurated soon. With the current initiatives in line, the country's rail-travel system is bound to be changed soon.
