The First Medical School!

The Goa Medical College was India’s first medical school setup to educate prospective doctors and also to impart treatments. This is definitely one of the facts about Goa you didn’t know. It was built in the 18th century when the state was still under Portuguese rule. One of Asia’s oldest medical colleges, the library here is one of the oldest as well, with books dating back to the 18th century.
Asia’s Only Naval Aviation Museum!

Goa is home to Asia’s one of the unique Naval Aviation Museums as it preserves the history and legacy of the Naval Aviation and how. Today, there are more than 15 types of aircraft at the museum and a wide range of scaled models of aircraft carriers.
There are only about six other such museums in the world and the colossal reconnaissance ship called Lockheed Super Constellation is displayed here.
Portuguese Passport!

India’s First Printing Press!

India’s very first printing press was set up in Goa, all the way back in the 1500s when only a scanty number of people went to school! It was installed at St. Paul’s college in Goa in 1956.
