Nahargarh Biological Park in Jaipur is home to many species of fauna. A natural habitat for tigers, lions, panthers and all sorts of big cats, black bears, sloth bears, rhesus monkeys, langurs, hyenas wolves and even amphibians such as crocodiles.
Nahargarh Biological Park is a major natural reserve that attracts a lot of tourist attention and to add to its charm an extremely rare, exotic hippo, has been brought here and another one will be brought to give it company.

We’re glad to see new additions to the species of fauna in Nahargarh Biological park, that has increased the appeal of this already bustling hub of tourists.
As for the new member to the family, the Hippo weighs an enormous 2,500 kilograms and is five years old. The exotic hippopotamus has been acquired from Delhi Zoo, under an exchange programme. As of now, one male hippo has reached Nahargarh Biological park and soon, a female will also be brought in. This is largely so that the both of them do not have a problem coping up with a change in habitat.

The animal will be revealed to the public as part of a safari which will be open to the visitors in a couple of days. As per the rules, the animal will be shown to the park visitors once a 21 day period is up. This is done so that the animal is comfortable with the surroundings and does not get startled by the plethora of visitors.
The park in itself is big enough to host a few more animals and also be a suitable environment for the new additions. Soon, there are plans to bring in a few more crocodiles a zebra and a few more such exotic animals in the near future.
