Online editions of the Jaipur Literature Festival to honour the power of literature globally

The programming will include topics like the COVID-19 pandemic, crime-writing, environment, poetry, international politics, racial equality and discrimination, entertainment and fiction.

As the world is in its course of embracing the 'new normal', most of the festivals all around the globe have taken up the digital route. The power of books, ideas and discourse is vital, as is the importance of ensuring a free flow of knowledge and information. So in quick succession from the 8th till the 29th of November, literary aficionados in Colorado, Houston, New York and Toronto will discover a whole new world of literature through online editions of the iconic Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF).


Ideas and visions to be shared on a slew of issues

On Monday, JLF producer, Teamwork Arts mentioned, "The festivals will bring together an extremely diverse palate of global themes while celebrating the unique culture, diversity, energy and beauty of the host cities, as usual marked by a strong sense of camaraderie, a caravan of ideas, and the magical flow of conversations."

The programming will include topics like the COVID-19 pandemic, crime-writing, environment, poetry, international politics, racial equality and discrimination, entertainment and fiction.

JLF co-director Namita Gokhale said, "The challenges of our changing times have led us at JLF to create and curate an incredibly rich and diverse digital platform" that will "as ever, engage with both the local and the global, giving voice to writers, poets and thinkers as they celebrate books, dialogue and debate".

Teamwork Arts Managing Director, Sanjoy K. Roy also stated, "Literature, ideas and knowledge are at the heart of our every effort to ensure a free flow of knowledge and information, specially in these times." He further added that between them, the four events will bring together Nobel laureates, Pulitzer, Commonwealth and other award-winning speakers to share their ideas and vision on a slew of issues from BLM to the environment, performing poetry to democracy and from music to film.

Jaipur-Delhi double-decker train services temporarily redlined over low occupancy rates

The double-decker train was back on track from the 10th of October following a halt due to the pandemic.

On account of low passenger turnout, the authorities of the North Western Railway (NWR), on Thursday, decided to temporarily redline the Jaipur-Delhi double-decker train. This train was back on track from the 10th of October following a halt due to the pandemic and its related directives and now, its operations will again remain barred from the 8th of December. Lucknow's SGPGIMS conducts highest COVID-19 tests in a single day, across India

Lucknow's testing lab worked round the clock to set the standard of RT-PCR COVID testing in the country.

The Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow claims to have conducted the highest number of RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 in a single day, in the whole country. The SGPGIMS has been conducting tests to check the infection of coronavirus since its outbreak in March. So far, the institute has conducted an aggregate total of 6 lakh tests in Lucknow.

A team of 70 members made it possible to conduct as many as 7,748 tests, that happens to be the highest number of RT-PCR COVID test conducted in a single day, across the whole country!
