Shuttling between Lucknow & Jaipur, Pink City Bus Service eases commute for daily passengers

Opening a new way of easy travel, the brand new facility will run all around the week, benefitting the regular commuters.

Initiated by Uttar Pradesh Roadways, the Pink City Bus service began its maiden run on Tuesday, connecting the cities of Lucknow and Jaipur. This UPSRTC bus will run all round the week, opening a new avenue of easy commute for people. An economic means of travel, the special bus will race through the entire trip in about 12 hours.

The bus service started its journey towards Jaipur from Lucknow's Alambagh bus terminal at 7 PM on Tuesday, reaching the destination at around 7 AM, the next day. Following a similar schedule during the return trip, the bus departed from Jaipur's Sindhi Camp at 7 PM on the same day. Reports have highlighted that the Pink City Bus service will run as a daily service for the benefit of frequent travellers.

This Uttar Pradesh Roadways transport facility will map a distance of about 600 km between the two-state capitals and a feasible ticket fare has been priced. Passengers hopping onto this facility have to pay ₹1,171 to board the bus. The online bookings began on Monday and one can easily book their tickets by simply logging on to the UPSRTC website.

Bus travel to take less time than an alternate a train trip

While the pandemic brought the nation to a complete halt, the return to the usual times is not just marked by revival of the closed services but with the implementation of the new projects too. Along similar lines, lies the execution of this project aimed to revamp the travel between Jaipur and Lucknow. Taking less time than an alternate train journey, the latest bus service shall work to the benefit of thousands of individuals who undertake regular trips between the two cities.

Flipkart Marketplace to facilitate contactless grocery shopping in Jaipur

Flipkart Marketplace allows you to buy your supplies from anywhere at any time.

On Tuesday, e-commerce platform Flipkart announced that it will expand its grocery services to about 50 cities via the establishment of a 'Marketplace'. With this, the Pink City is all set to get its own retail unit that will ease the task of grocery shopping here. Additionally, the marketplace will also be available in Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Mysore, among others. Reportedly, Flipkart aims to extend its reach to over 70 cities in the next six months.

Auto-rickshaw & taxi rides get costlier in Mumbai

Commuters in Mumbai will now have to pay a minimum fare of ₹21 & ₹25 for all CNG-run auto-rickshaws and taxis, respectively.

The base fare of all CNG-run public commute vehicles, taxis and autorickshaws has witnessed a hike of ₹3 in Mumbai. The decision was finalised in a meeting of the MMRTA last week, chaired by the State Transport Secretary. Mumbai's Central Railway Authority has raised the cost of platform tickets to ₹50, in a bid to avoid overcrowding in the premises. The change will be applicable only at the key stations of the suburban train network, that witness heavy footfalls daily. As per reports, the heightened prices have been in effect since February 24 in view of the unprecedented spike in cases, soon after the resumption of local train services for all. The prices shall remain in force until June 15, this year.
