Residents of Haldwani and Kotdwar in Uttarakhand can now seamlessly travel to The Pink City as the roadway management authorities have decided to start bus facilities on this route. In-charge of Kathgodam Depot, DN Joshi, has mentioned that the first bus will leave for Jaipur at 5 in the evening and the second at 7.30 PM, on Tuesday from the Haldwani bus stand. The Uttarakhand Transport Corporation is also setting up direct bus services from Kotdwar to Jaipur and Rishikesh, from the 6th of October onwards.
Expected rise in Tourism
The bus en route to Jaipur will not go to ISBT in Delhi but will go via Kalekhao and Dhaulakunya. Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has given a direct bus service from Kotdwar, for the passengers meaning to take up a journey from Garhwal. Likewise, travellers will reap some relief as there are now straight buses from Kotdwar to Rishikesh as well. The Assistant General Manager of Roadways, Tikaram Aditya, has stated that the direct bus service from the corporation headquarters to Jaipur has been cleared.
The services are starting from Tuesday and the bus to Jaipur will leave from Kotdwar bus base at 10:30 PM via Delhi. The bus will return from Jaipur to Kotdwar at 1:35 AM the next day. The AGM further informed that there will be a bus from Kotdwar to Rishikesh at 8:00 AM, which will return from Rishikesh to Kotdwar, at 12:30 PM the same day. This will establish a direct transportation link between these two districts and probably, the places will witness a surge in tourism once again. Also, without masks, nobody will be allowed to board the buses.
