IIT-Kanpur to host the 2nd edition of IEEE Winter School on December 29 & December 30

This two-day virtual winter school will be dedicated to the study of 'Fog/Edge Computing'.

The Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur has slated the 2nd edition of the Institute Of Electrical, Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Winter School on December 29 and December 30, as a virtual session. This year, the winter school will focus on the study of Fog-Edge Computing which will aid in addressing topic while conducting research for future 6G and next-generation Internet of Things (IoT) services and application. In a tweet, the Director of IIT Kanpur stated that the interested pupil can register for free for the virtual sessions.

IIT Kanpur's Virtual Initiative to develop networks of the future!

The Director of IIT Kanpur took to Twitter to announce the initiative, the scope and benefit of this two-day programme. Adding to his announcement, the director wrote, '"If you are interested in the Fog/Edge Computing or Telecom domain, you must attend these sessions. Along with me, some of the renowned international and national speakers in their field" including global pioneers such Ananth Krishnan of TCS, Mathew Oommen of Reliance Jio, Yoshiki Sasaki of Japan Strategic, Tom Dailey of Dailey Strategic Advisors and Flavio Bonomi of Nebbiolo Tech, as keynote speakers.

Stressing on the need to develop mobile networks of the future, the IIT-K further added, "We shall discuss some very interesting cutting edge research topics like #FogComputing in #5G and beyond, #EdgeComputing, #EdgeAI, Connected Intelligence, Inception of Fog/Edge Computing, Migrating from Federated Learning to Fog Learning etc." Topics such as easy and economic implementation of emerging services like V2V in Vehicular Telematics Services, Industry 4.0 and e-Healthcare Services, and manufacturing industry 4.0 have been included under the purview of the winter school.

As per reports, the second edition of the IEEE Winter School is being organised under the able guidance of Dr Tao Zhang of NIST, USA and Professor Rajesh M Hegde of IIT Kanpur, who will also co-chair the virtual event.
