Heatwave alert in Lucknow issued by MET for next 3 days
With temperatures in Lucknow rising as high as 42°C everyday, MET Centre Lucknow has issued a heatwave alert for the next three days, from June 12 to 14.
The scorching heat and humidity has made it difficult for people to go out, especially during peak hours around 2 o’ clock in the afternoon. The maximum temperature of Lucknow is forecast to be in the range between 40°C to 42°C for the next week, stated a senior scientist at Lucknow Meteorological Centre. In the same vein, the minimum temperature was seen to take a hike at 31°C.
Hot days incoming!
The increasing temperature is attributed to the high-speed north-westerly hot winds blowing as fast as 27 kph in the city. As per the MET Centre Lucknow, the maximum temperature in Lucknow on June 12 will hover at around 41°C, while the minimum stands at 33°C with 32% humidity.
Heatwaves are prolonged periods of excessively hot weather that can cause adverse impacts on human health, the environment, and the economy. Lucknowites are advised to stay hydrated, carry an umbrella and avoid going out in the sun.
Post June 14, the speed of north-westerly winds will drop, slightly taking the temperature by a notch.
