Lucknow and many other parts of UP witnessed the hottest day of the year in Monday, May 20. The city’s temperature remained between 42-45 degree Celsius on Monday, making it a very hot and humid day.
Most places will remain hot in the coming days, while some parts of East UP will see thunderstorms. With high humidity and sultry conditions, combined with the pollution and concrete buildings, the temperature rose above normal and touched the mark of 45 degree Celsius, and brought discomfort to the lives.
Sunday was comparatively cooler with a temperature of 25.8 degree Celsius. Earlier in May, the highest temperature recorded was 41.3 degree Celsius.
Monsoon is expected to touch Kerala coast on May 29 this year and if its advancement remained at the normal speed, it would arrive in UP and Lucknow between June 15-20. So, let’s hope the monsoon is here on time, to give us the much-needed relief from the heat.
