What’s Batla House about?
The film is based on the real Batla House encounter that was conducted against the suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists on the September 19, 2008 in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar.
Abraham is portraying the role of Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, a Delhi officer, who headed the ‘Operation Batla House’.Yadav bagged 9 Gallantry Awards and is also known as one of the most controversial police officers who has handled 70 encounters including some of the dreaded criminals and terrorists!

John Abraham reached Lucknow with his co-star, actor-politician Ravi Kishan to shoot for ‘Batla House’ which also stars the ‘Love Sonia’ actress Mrunal Thakur and Dilbar girl Nora Fatehi! The cast scheduled their shoot in and around the city including Hazratganj, Amity University in Gomti Nagar and also at Malihabad.
Several local actors from Lucknow have also been featured in the film, mostly selected from Bhartendu Natya Akademi, reportedly at the behest of actor Ravi Kishan.

The 45 year-old Madras Cafe actor also dropped by the famous ‘Sheroes Hangout’ cafe which is run by acid attack victims and survivors with his crew members and interacted with the workers there.
We simply have to wait till the next I-day in 2019 to view it and we’re hoping that this movie adds another feather to John’s cap!
