The number of Covid cases in UP has now reached 3,874 with 627 fresh cases reported on Wednesday. The test positivity rate in the state stands at 1.63% with a total of 87,000 samples tested in the last two days. Lucknow reported 120 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, while Gautam Buddha Nagar recorded 106 new cases.
The spike in cases was relatively low in Varanasi and Ghaziabad, with the two cities reporting 24 and 57 cases, respectively. A majority of cases in UP are still asymptomatic, while 934 patients were also reported to have recovered from the infection on Wednesday.
Having said that, residents have been advised to follow all Covid protocols and get themselves checked as soon as they show any symptoms.
