Lucknow is set for a volatile weekend as a Western Disturbance brings thunderstorms, lightning, and potential hail to the region. While Saturday morning may begin clear, the Meteorological Department predicts a shift by the afternoon, with thundersqualls and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50–60 km/h.
Unsettled conditions and high humidity
Rain and winds of up to 50 km/h are expected to persist through Sunday. However, any cooling effect will be momentary. Officials warn that moisture incursion will lead to sultry and humid conditions rather than a significant drop in temperature. Friday’s minimum temperature already sat nearly 5°C above normal at 23.4°C, indicating a sticky, warm weekend ahead despite the storms.
