The teachings and literary works of the 16th-century poet Kabir Das remain timeless even after 650 years, inspiring today’s literary works, art forms, and cinema. To delve deeper into Sant Kabir’s teachings and draw more inspiration from his works, the prestigious Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in Lucknow will now incorporate his poems into dance dramas and classical music curricula. The university has partnered with the Kabir Academy and Research Centre in Sant Kabir Nagar for this initiative.
Under this initiative, Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya will interweave Kabir Das’s timeless verses into classical music and ragas, enriching their cultural resonance. Students at Bhatkhande will have the opportunity to explore Kabir’s spiritual wisdom and poetic depth as they create dance dramas based on his profound works.
