ODOP, an initiative of the UP government, aims at promoting specific cottage industry products, each belonging to the 75 districts of the state. This would further give way to national and international-level sales for the same.

At this exhibition, an average sale of ₹40,000 per day, has been recorded by the shops dealing in chikankari clothes. Moreover, visitors have also shown interest in other indigenous items from UP like Varanasi's exclusive Banarasi sarees, shazar stone sculptures from Banda, bedsheets from Hapur, Chitrakoot's wooden toys and brass items from Moradabad.

These ODOP products, which were striving for their identity earlier, have now been established as special brands and the response of visitors, is an affirmation of the same, said the Additional Chief Secretary (Information and MSME) Navneet Sehgal. "Arrangements for accommodation and food for the artisans and shopkeepers participating in the exhibition have been made by the ODOP department. The participants have also been given return fares by the government." added the officer, who visited the Haat on Saturday.
