The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a high tide advisory for Mumbai from July 24 to 27, with tides expected to exceed 4.5 meters. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall during this period.

IMD warns of extreme rains
High tides are forecast at 11:57 AM on July 24 (4.57m), followed by 12:40 PM on July 25 (4.66m), 1:20 PM on July 26 (4.67m), and 1:56 PM on July 27 (4.60m). The highest tide of the season, 4.75 meters was recorded on June 26.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a red alert for Konkan and ghat regions, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, warning of extremely heavy rainfall. Pune, Satara, and Kolhapur’s ghat areas are also on high alert.
While no major flooding has been reported yet, the BMC has urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and stay updated on weather warnings. Emergency teams remain on standby as Mumbai prepares for intensified monsoon conditions.
