The foundation stone for a state-of-the-art 174-bed cancer hospital in Bandra was laid on October 8. With an investment of ₹213 crore, this 13-storey building will help patients seeking cancer treatment in Mumbai. As per reports, construction is set to be complete in 36 months.
OPDs, ICUs and more!
Just opposite Bhabha Hospital in Bandra, this new facility will have a built-up area of 13,000 square meters, complete with two basements. Among its features are two specialised bunker rooms for radiation therapy, 12 outpatient department (OPD) wards, five laboratories, Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and High Dependency Units (HDUs). Plus, as per Municipal Architect Department;s plan, there will be dedicated units for mammography and PET-CT scans.
The hospital will also include a lecture hall and seminar room for training and education, a blood bank for critical needs, and isolation rooms for specialised care. While the first eight floors will be reserved for hospital activity, the ninth and tenth floors will cater to staff and officials.
