With 1 COVID positive crew member, Cordelia Cruise from Mumbai denied entry in Goa!

With a crew member testing COVID positive on board, the Cordelia Cruises’ Empress from Mumbai was denied permission to disembark in Goa. As a consequence, 2000 passengers have been stuck on the vessel outside the limit of Mormugao port since Sunday night, awaiting their RT-PCR tests reports that are mandatory to leave the ship. According to reports, the Cordelia cruise has tied up with Victor Hospital for testing people on board, the results of which are expected today.

Search begins for tourists who landed in Goa from UAE & UK, amid fears of new coronavirus strain

Following a sudden surge in the number of patients affected by a new COVID-19 variant in the UK and UAE, Goa health authorities are hard at work trying to locate a total of 602 tourists from the two aforementioned countries. The authorities are tracking down anyone who came to Goa after December 9 from either the UK or UAE.

Officials have gone on to state that most of these tourists from overseas are expected to be in the Cansaulim area of South Goa district, mainly because this is a popular beach destination.

Sunburn 2020 scheduled to be held in Goa's Vagator in December, now stands cancelled

After receiving much flak from netizens all over the country, the Goa government on Friday announced that it has decided to cancel Sunburn 2020; one of Asia's biggest electronic dance music festival. The 14th edition of this EDM fest was scheduled to be held from December 27-29 in line with issued COVID-19 protocols but has been called off due to the possible health hazards posed by it. The tourism minister of Goa stated, "We have taken the decision keeping in mind the health of the people of Goa."
