Lucknow's SGPGI to launch the first tele-ICU network in UP from December

In a bid to expand the scope and ease of medical aid across Uttar Pradesh, the state's first integrated telemedicine ICU facility will be rolled out in December. Centred at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow, the network will link 6 district medical colleges in UP to provide state-of-the-art clinical facilities. The system will forge a means for relaying the PGI expertise to patients suffering from serious diseases, in the ICU of the medical college of their own district.

Virology labs at Lucknow's CDRI & NBRI now part of Indian Sars Cov-2 Genomic Surveillance Consortium

Premium virology labs at Lucknow's Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) and National Botanical Research Institute, have been included in the Indian Sars Cov-2 Genomic Surveillance Consortium (INSACOG). This is a grid of 28 laboratories across the country which are collectively studying the variations in the coronavirus genomic makeup. Now the aforementioned labs in Lucknow will also study the mutations of the COVID-19 virus, to mitigate the impact of the expected 'third wave'.

Sunday unlock in UP: All shops, markets & malls to operate all through the week!

In a review meeting of the Uttar Pradesh COVID task force, Team 9, on Friday, the Chief Minister revoked the order of the weekly lockdown on Sundays, across all districts here. All businesses, commercial, private or otherwise, will now be permitted to function, without limitations, all through the week. The relief has been granted in view of the dipping range of COVID cases and transmission in the state.
