Mumbai-based MediCircle introduces internationally approved SprectraLIT testing tool in India

A Mumbai-based diagnostic company, MediCircle launched a portable COVID-19 testing tool on Monday. This testing platform is powered by artificial intelligence that taps into the process of machine learning and delivers results in just one second. Christened as SpectraLIT- Spectral Instant Test, it detects the virus by detecting its spectral signature from using nasal or mouthwash samples and eliminates the need for complex lab equipment and chemicals.

The Maharashtra government on Monday passed a resolution to commence offline school for classes 8 to 12 in COVID-19-free village panchayats across. As per reports, offline sessions are set to begin immediately, with due safety protocols in place. 11 new labs for RT-PCR testing to come up in UP

Ahead of the expected rise of the third wave of coronavirus, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to ramp up the sampling and testing capacities in the state with 11 new labs. With this, 45 of the 75 districts in UP will have an RT-PCR testing lab, read reports. Meanwhile, officials of the medical education department further informed that efforts are underway to develop labs in the remaining 30 districts as well.

BMC serosurvey: Over 50% of children in Mumbai have COVID antibodies

A recent serosurvey conducted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has highlighted that over 50% of children have developed antibodies against the coronavirus. As per reports, around 10,000 children, aged between 6 and 18 years were sampled in the antibody survey study. The study stretched from May to June and covered all 24 municipal wards of Mumbai.
