Schools in Goa permitted to conduct offline examinations classes XI & XII

The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Goa on Wednesday permitted offline, formative and term tests for the students of classes XI and XII. Reportedly, the order has been issued on the requests of Higher Secondary schools in the state in a bid to maintain the standard of education. The Directorate has further established a set of strict COVID SOPs to prevent the spread of coronavirus due to the reopening of schools for assessments.

IIT Bombay, QIMR & Agilent Tech develop method to screen severity of COVID patients

Researchers at IIT Bombay and Australia's QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, with the support of Agilent Technologies, have formulated a quick screening method to gauge the expected severity of COVID-infected citizens. This process will differentiate patients based on their probability of experiencing severe or mild symptoms. With an accuracy of 85% in the pilot study of COVID sufferers, this test could be used to triage patients at the hotspots of the deadly virus, in the future.

Offline classes to commence for 8th to 12th grades in Maharashtra's COVID free villages

The Maharashtra government on Monday passed a resolution to commence offline school for classes 8 to 12 in COVID-19-free village panchayats across. As per reports, offline sessions are set to begin immediately, with due safety protocols in place. The state has asked school authorities to discuss the same with the parents-guardians and initiate a phased reopening.
