Walk-in vaccination allowed in Goa for 18-44 age group from June 13

To foster rife immunisation against the COVID contagion in the state, the Goa government on Friday, undertook a resolution to launch Tika Utsav 3.0, from June 13 onwards. Additonally, holding the state's ultimate goal of achieving herd immunity in the near future, the authorities have now allowed walk-in registrations for the 18-44 age group. Further, the government is actively taking steps to ensure that the upcoming inoculation campaign covers 100% first dose inoculation for all citizens in the region.

COVID treatment SOPs altered in Goa with over 200 fatalities marked in the last 4 days!

Alerted by inflating death tallies in the state, the Goa administration has laid out new standard operating procedures for COVID patients. According to the new protocols, infected individuals who do not require external oxygen support will also be admitted to hospitals, to be kept under continuous observation of the doctors. On Tuesday, 2,814 individuals tested COVID positive in Goa and 52 lives were lost due to the deadly virus.

Spiralling COVID infections may lead to partial lockdown in Goan beach villages, decision awaited!

Goa records highest single-day COVID tally on Thursday, with 757 new infections!

After hovering around the 500-mark for over a week, Goa's COVID count breached all records on Thursday, registering a total of 757 new infections. With this unprecedented spike, the active cases in the state soared up to 5,682 while the cumulative count of COVID-affected individuals stood at 64,572. In a first, Goa Medical College provides 2 essential tests for COVID patients free of cost

With an objective to analyse the unprecedented rise in COVID cases seen in Goa recently, the state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane summoned a meeting of the top officials on Monday. There, the minister remarked that Goa is the first state in the country to offer D-Dimer and Interleukin 6, the two important tests for COVID-19 patients, free of cost. Reportedly, these tests are being conducted at the Goa Medical College for assessing the condition of COVID patients.
