Curfew restrictions extended for a week in Goa till 7 AM on July 26!

As a move of caution against the ongoing pandemic, the Goa government has extended the curfew restrictions for one more week till 7 AM on July 26. While the restraints were first imposed on May 9, they have now stretched for a period of more than 2 and a half months. Notably, gyms, religious places, shops, malls and other places have been allowed to reopen with certain terms and conditions, the basic one being complete adherence to COVID protocol.

Goa reports zero COVID death for the first time in 4 months on Monday!

In a COVID respite, the state of Goa managed to nullify its virus toll for the first time in 4 months. On Monday, no coronavirus deaths were reported here, the health department announced. The Chief Minister on Tuesday, congratulated the medical fraternity and concerned officials for achieving the zero-casualty feat, after relentless efforts. Goa's average fatality ratio presently stands at 1.8%, aggregating a total of 3,097 virus-related deaths since the pandemic outbreak.

Curfew extended in Goa till July 19, check what's allowed & what's not!

Aiming to further clamp the infection rate in Goa, the state government has announced the extension of the ongoing curfew till July 19. While some relaxations have been offered to ease day-to-day dealings for the public, the larger restraints will be functional till 7 AM on July 19. Notably, gyms are permitted to reopen with 50% capacity and sports complexes are allowed to operate without an in-house audience. Besides, religious places will allow visitors with a cap of 15 people at a time.

Restaurants in Goa may be allowed to function at 50% capacity from July 5

With the contracting infection tallies in Goa, the state government is moving ahead with the unlock interventions. As per the latest developments, the Chief Minister of the coastal state apprised that the administration is deliberating upon the revival of restaurants at 50% capacity from July 5 onwards. In addition to this, the government has also declared that saloons may open in the state from the same date, tweaking the ongoing curfew protocol.

Now, only 2 government facilities will provide COVID treatment in Goa

Amid the dipping rate of fresh COVID cases in Goa, the state administration on Friday decided to continue virus treatment in only two major government health facilities here. Except for the South Goa District Hospital and the super speciality unit at Goa Medical College, all other state-run institutes have been denotified from being pandemic treatment cells. Besides fresh cases, the daily mortality rate has also dropped here, signalling the passing over of the 'second wave'.
