Curfew restrictions extended for a week in Goa till 7 AM on July 26!

As a move of caution against the ongoing pandemic, the Goa government has extended the curfew restrictions for one more week till 7 AM on July 26. While the restraints were first imposed on May 9, they have now stretched for a period of more than 2 and a half months. Notably, gyms, religious places, shops, malls and other places have been allowed to reopen with certain terms and conditions, the basic one being complete adherence to COVID protocol.

Goa reports zero COVID death for the first time in 4 months on Monday!

In a COVID respite, the state of Goa managed to nullify its virus toll for the first time in 4 months. On Monday, no coronavirus deaths were reported here, the health department announced. The Chief Minister on Tuesday, congratulated the medical fraternity and concerned officials for achieving the zero-casualty feat, after relentless efforts. Goa's average fatality ratio presently stands at 1.8%, aggregating a total of 3,097 virus-related deaths since the pandemic outbreak.

COVID curfew in Goa may extend beyond July 12 amid pandemic fears

Amid the widespread threat of COVID-19, the presence of new virus strains and the expected 'third wave', the Goa Chief Minister on Friday hinted that the state-level curfew might be extended here. In a public statement, the CM stated that the government needs to think about continuing the state curfew beyond July 12. It may be noted that some relaxations, with respect to operations of restaurants, bars and outdoor sports complexes were awarded on July 2 here.

Goa to be under a lockdown from 10 PM on Thursday to 7 AM on Monday to tackle COVID surge!

Amid the ebbing swell of the second wave of COVID infection, Goa's Chief Minister on Wednesday announced that the state will be undergoing a 4-day lockdown, starting from 10 PM on Thursday to 7 AM Monday. All activities, except essential services and industrial production, will be suspended during this tenure the CM stated. He also pacified the general public, stating that there is no need to panic-buy or hoard supplies, as the lockdown will be lifted on Monday.
