In light of impending monsoon, advisory issued to safeguard Goa residents from beach areas

Beaches and water sport activities are a major attraction of Goa, however, with the impending arrival of the southwest monsoons, they have been shut down for visitors. Light showers have been witnessed over the past few days, along the coastal stretch, which signifies that pre-monsoon has already hit the state. This decision has been implemented from Saturday, i.e., 5 June onwards.

On the same day, the Goa government also declared that the ongoing curfew restrictions across the state will be extended till 7 AM of 14 June. However, during this period, shops dealing in essential items will be allowed to operate from 7 AM to 3 PM every day.

Review meeting on June 6 to decide over the extension of ongoing curfew in Goa

In wake of the second wave of the pandemic, Goa stands clamped under an ongoing curfew till June 7. Now, the state government will take cognisance of the present situation, before deciding over the extension of the curfew, Speaking about this, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed that the state administration will hold a review meeting with the top officials on June 6 and the restrictions may be extended or relaxed thereafter, depending upon the prevailing circumstances.

Curfew extended in Goa till June 7 in a bid to further arrest the spread of infections!

Keeping in view high active tallies in the state, the Goa government has announced an extension of the COVID curfew till June 7. Previously, the curfew was imposed from May 9 to 23, which was extended to May 31, noting the continual surge in infection tallies. Now, the ongoing restrictions will be in place till June 7 and the CM has ALSO announced that there will be no official celebrations for the statehood day on May 30 this year.

Goa curfew to extend with existing norms till May 31 amid persistent virus threat

Curfew in Goa extended till 31 May amid an upward trajectory of infections!

On Friday, the administrative authorities of Goa extended the lockdown till May 31, which was supposed to terminate originally on May 23.
