COVID curbs for cinema halls, markets & hotels eased across Indore & other MP districts

Madhya Pradesh administration, in view of the receding COVID cases, has awarded a set of new relaxations, effective today onwards. All markets in Indore and other MP districts will now be permitted to operate till 10 PM, each day. The staggered timings will categorically reduce overcrowding in market areas, especially during closing hours. Besides, cinema halls have been permitted to function at 50% capacity while hotels have received a nod to operate at 100% potential.

Indore administration eases COVID guidelines; check new norms HERE!

The Indore district administration on Monday evening, relaxed certain pandemic restrictions in wake of the receding COVID transmission here. Under the scope of these eased guidelines, all hotels, restaurants and bars in the city have been permitted to extend operating hours till 11 PM.

Similarly, weddings gatherings have been allowed to include 50 guests now, provided that marriage garden operators submit the videography of the ceremony to the regional police station. This film will be monitored to ensure that all norms and safety protocols are followed strictly, read reports.

Corona curfew in Indore's urban areas extended till April 30 amid high COVID surge

In wake of the threatening rise of the coronavirus infection in Indore, the District Collector has further extended the corona curfew till April 30 here. As per the issued order, the urban areas in Indore will continue to observe a partial lockdown to curb the rampant spread of infection here. The district recorded yet another high with 1,753 new infections on Tuesday, marking the highest surge across MP. The active caseload now stands at 12,324 patients as 1,225 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours. About 8 people succumbed to the infection during the same period, raising the toll to 1,062 deaths, as of April 20.

Indore markets to shut at 9 PM ahead of Holi to repress the COVID-19 surge in Madhya Pradesh

The Crisis Management Committee in Indore on Thursday announced that all city markets will be closed at 9 PM, instead of the earlier 10 PM ahead of Holi. This decision has been imposed in the district to arrest the COVID-19 surge within the municipal limits, thereby reducing the total caseload in Madhya Pradesh. The order gained increased significance on Friday when Indore reported 612 fresh coronavirus cases, the highest single-day spike since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.
